In the rural setting of Northern
Westchester, the
village of Mount Kisco offers a great selection of shopping, dining
and first class medical facilities. Well known stores such as
Starbucks, The Gap and Borders Books are a great convenience to the
surrounding rural area. The business district of Mount Kisco draws
shoppers from nearby towns such as
Bedford,
Katonah,
Pound Ridge,
Lewisboro and Chappaqua. While the commercial hub has a great
diversity of stores, it retains a quaint feeling and some of the
buildings are inscribed with dates from the late 1800's.
Surrounding its business section, Mount Kisco also has a variety of
residential areas ranging from friendly family neighborhoods to
large private estates. The land is typical of Northern Westchester
with woods, rolling fields and stone walls. Much acreage is
dedicated as permanent sanctuary with an abundance of wildlife. The
school system is the top rated Bedford Central School District and
there are outstanding private schools available as well. The
Metro-North train stops in Mt. Kisco allowing an easy one hour
commute to New York City.
